We need to build a vibration isolated mount for the STM. We plan to use a spring-damper with the spring element being very long tension springs and the damper being magnets functioning as an eddy current brake (Wirbelstrombremse).
The Vibration Isolation Frame is currently developed over in https://git.fa-fo.de/fafo/k8ik-stm.

The calculated performance of this vibration isolation setup is the blue line in the following diagram. There are some real-world optical table isolation curves plotted alongside it for comparison:
