As followup to #5 we decided to go with a MODBUS-based approach for further sensor I/O. I ordered some components to make this happen:

  • MODBUS TCP to MODBUS RTU gateway
  • MODBUS 8 DI 8 DQ board (outputs are 1 CO relays) --> this will replace the current relay boards
  • MODBUS 8-Ch PT100 transmitter --> Temperature measurements

succbone/succd can communicate with the I/O using MODBUS TCP via the gateway. TODOs:

  • Installation of the new components once they arrive
  • succd MODBUS TCP integration -> Can be started early by testing against a dummy pymodbus server
